ENGINE COMPANY X: THE NEW STENTORIANS

The Final Installment of the WSG Documentary Series Is Complete

Los Angeles, Ca (July 16, 2004)-Westlake Signal Group is proud to announce that the follow-up to 2003’s acclaimed The Powerful Voice is now complete. The latest & final installment of the ECX series is entitled The New Stentorians.

The New Stentorians continues the true stories of African-Americans on Los Angeles’ fire service from the years 1970 to today and features a Los Angeles City Fire Captain whose work in the community was honored by the White House. Also featured is the first African-American Woman to promote to Captain on L.A. County Fire, the first African-American Lifeguard in L.A. County, and the first African-American male to promote to Captain in L.A. County. In addition to looking at Los Angeles’ political landscape, major events such as the 1992 Rodney King Riots and the terrorist attacks of 9/11 are spotlighted. A section is devoted to Stentorians who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

What adds to the excitement of this film is the breathtaking field footage, which was shot by WSG cameras at the scenes of fires, accidents, and water rescues. Additional photographs were also added from the African-American Firefighter Museum collection along with photos from noted a Los Angeles news photographer.

“The combination of The Stentorians with our film & photo work just made for an incredible documentary that basically covers the entire last part of the twentieth century and the new millennium.

Every part just came together like we hoped it would.”
